Argument for or Against the Korean War
I think that the Korean War was necessary, the North Koreans were going towards the communists side, the South Koreans wanted to resent and wanted nationalism, thus creating the conflict between the two sides, splitting up Korea. The Korean War occurred because of political reasons, which was no reason to harm people, but they had to fight for what they believed in, and both sides had acquired allies that supported their position, North Korea had gotten China, and Soviet, South Korea had gotten the United Nations. Both allies helping them by supplying weapons, medical services, and other help. The Korean war had helped end the spread of communism, which were the goals of the UN, and if communism had stopped spreading, then the communists/Soviet Union had less power. So if many lives were lost, even more lives were saved from stopping the spread of communism and major future conflicts.
If the Korean War had not happened, then South Korea and many other countries would have maybe turned towards the communist side, which would result of more conflicts in the world and more major wars. If most of Asia had been communists, then I wouldn't have been born or possibly even be in the U.S, because where my parents come from would be ruled by communists and they wouldn't have allowed them to come over here.
