Major Battles
Many battles had taken place during the Korean War. Some of the major ones would be: Operation Killer, Operation Roundup, Operation Ripper, Inchon, and the battle of Pusan. There were approximately 73 battles that had taken place between North Korea and South Korea.
Operation Killer
Designed to attack the communist troops in the eastern part of Korea. It succeed, but the communist forces were now moving northward.
Operation Roundup
Launched by X corps and the Rokill Corps. Launched what was known as their 4th offense, the Battle of Chipyong Ni. The United Nations managed to stop the offense and regained the initiative.
Inchon
The North Koreans lost a total of 1350 men. In the morning six Korean tanks tried to master a counter attack but within minutes armed men destroyed the tanks.
Pusan
UN forces pushed the communist back from Pusan, and advanced north.
These battles were very important to the war and have altered the war in many ways. If they did not occur, then the outcomes of the war would have been completely different. For instance, the Inchon war, if it had not occurred, then North Korea would have possibly pushed South Korea too far south.
